Muslin Publications

Muslin.Our Story, written by Saiful Islam and launched at the Muslin Festival, February, 2016.

A variety of publications have been launched to spread the story of muslin at all levels; nationally and globally;

Book: ‘Muslin. Our Story’, was published to coincide with the Muslin Festival. This remarkable and definitive book on muslin takes the reader from the origins of the fabric, its links with Bengal and Europe, including the extraordinary journey that the author undertook to discover the muslin plant.  It is the record of a single-minded pursuit that opens up the ancient world of cotton textiles, a world where the past and the future, cotton and colonialism, national narratives and regal haute couture intersect in remarkable ways. Stunning photos by world-class photographers along with rare historical images and illustrations complement the text.
